South Carolina at LSU
BATON ROUGE, La. (Interstat) — A surging South Carolina team aims to carry its momentum into one of college football’s most daunting environments when the Gamecocks visit LSU at Tiger Stadium on Saturday.
The Gamecocks (3-2) are coming off a dominant 35-13 win over Kentucky, where quarterback LaNorris Sellers was highly efficient, completing 11 of 14 passes for 153 yards and adding 81 rushing yards. That victory snapped a two-game skid that included losses to Missouri and Vanderbilt.
LSU (4-1) looks to rebound after its first loss, a 24-19 setback at Ole Miss. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 197 yards and a touchdown in the defeat. The Tigers’ defense, which held Florida to 10 points in a win earlier this season, will be tested by a dual-threat Sellers.
Despite South Carolina’s recent form, LSU is a 9.5-point favorite according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under is 44.5. Interstat’s game simulator projects a 30-17 victory for the Tigers.
The matchup features a contrast in styles, with South Carolina’s balanced offense facing an LSU team playing its first home game since a 56-10 rout of Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 20. The Gamecocks are 1-1 on the road this season.
Saturday’s contest begins a critical stretch for both teams. South Carolina hosts Oklahoma next week, while LSU travels to Vanderbilt.
