Southern Utah at Tarleton State

STEPHENVILLE, Texas (Interstat) — The undefeated Tarleton State Texans, riding high at 5-0, will host the struggling Southern Utah Thunderbirds on Saturday at Tarleton Memorial Stadium.

The Texans are off to their best start in years and are coming off a dominant 52-24 victory over Chattanooga on Sept. 20. The offense has been potent, with quarterbacks Daniel Greek and Victor Gabalis combining for four touchdown passes in that win. Their season includes a notable 30-27 road victory at Army.

Southern Utah (1-4) arrives looking to stop a four-game skid. The Thunderbirds are coming off a heartbreaking 27-24 home loss to West Georgia last Saturday. In that game, quarterback Bronson Barron threw for 186 yards and a touchdown, while running back Joshua Dye scored twice. Despite the losing record, the Thunderbirds’ offense has shown flashes, scoring 46 points in a season-opening win and 49 in a narrow loss to Northern Arizona.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Texans are projected to win 42-31. The matchup pits Tarleton State’s perfect record and high-scoring offense against a Southern Utah team desperate to turn its season around.

Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025.
