Albany at New Hampshire
DURHAM, N.H. (Interstat) — The New Hampshire Wildcats look to get back to .500 as they host the Albany Great Danes in a nonconference matchup Saturday at Wildcat Stadium.
New Hampshire (2-2) is coming off a 27-20 road loss to Dartmouth. Quarterback Matt Vezza leads the Wildcats’ offense, coming off a performance where he passed for 273 yards and a touchdown while adding 33 rushing yards and another score.
Albany (1-3) enters with momentum after securing its first win of the season, a 13-10 victory over Cornell. The Great Danes employed a three-quarterback system in the win, with Jack Shields, Colin Parachek and Aidan Semo all contributing. Albany’s other results include losses to New Haven, Delaware State and FBS opponent Iowa.
The game features two teams seeking consistency. Albany’s defense will be tested by a New Hampshire offense averaging over 23 points per game. The Wildcats’ defense, which allowed 27 points in each of its two losses, will face an Albany attack that found a winning formula last week with a ground-heavy approach.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, New Hampshire is projected to win, 37-29.
Following this game, New Hampshire opens its Coastal Athletic Association schedule at home against Villanova on Oct. 4. Albany begins its CAA slate the same day, hosting Stony Brook.
