Utah State at Vanderbilt
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — An undefeated Vanderbilt squad will put its perfect record on the line against a high-scoring Utah State team when the Commodores host the Aggies on Saturday at FirstBank Stadium.
Vanderbilt (4-0) is off to its best start in years, coming off a dominant 70-21 victory over Georgia State last week. Quarterback Diego Pavia has been a dual threat, accounting for 331 total yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Utah State (3-1) arrives with one of the nation’s most potent offenses, averaging over 36 points per game. The Aggies are fresh from a 48-7 rout of McNeese State, where quarterback Bryson Barnes threw for 293 yards and three touchdowns while also rushing for 128 yards and two more scores.
Despite Vanderbilt’s flawless record, Interstat’s game simulator projects a nail-biter, forecasting a 29-28 victory for the Commodores. The betting markets, however, tell a different story, installing Utah State as a 23.5-point favorite with an over/under of 58.5.
The game represents a final non-conference test for both teams before entering the heart of their league schedules. Vanderbilt will open Southeastern Conference play next week at Alabama, while Utah State begins Mountain West Conference action on Oct. 11 at Hawaii.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025.
