Brown vs. Columbia

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (Interstat) — Brown and Columbia meet Sunday afternoon in the 2026 Ivy League Championship at Yale Field, with the Bears seeking their 23rd win of the season and the Lions aiming to cap a late surge.

Brown (22-19) advanced to the title game after a 5-2 loss to Yale on Saturday, while Columbia (15-23-1) defeated Penn 6-3 on Saturday to earn its spot. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EDT.

Right-hander Dylan Reid will start for the Bears. Reid threw eight innings in Saturday’s loss, allowing five earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts. He also logged a seven-inning, one-run outing against Harvard on April 21, but has lost his last three decisions overall. His 5.25 ERA over 28⅓ innings in Ivy play will be tested against a Columbia lineup that scored 11 runs in an April 18 win over Brown.

Columbia counters with right-hander Alex Sotiropoulos, who earned the win Saturday against Penn: seven innings, three earned runs, nine hits, seven strikeouts. The junior has been inconsistent — he allowed four runs in 5⅔ innings in a loss at Cornell on May 2, and surrendered six earned runs in just two innings against Yale on April 26. Sotiropoulos has a 5.19 ERA in conference starts.

The teams split the regular-season series, with Brown winning 16-8 on April 29 and Columbia taking the other two games — 11-2 on April 18 and 6-1 on the same day’s twin bill.

Brown’s offense has been productive in recent meetings with Columbia, scoring 16 runs on 18 hits in the April 29 win. Center fielder Mika Petersen homered and drove in a run in the Bears’ loss to Yale on Saturday, and left fielder Cole Fellows went 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Columbia against Penn.

The championship marks the fourth meeting between the Ivy League rivals this season. Brown is seeking its first Ivy baseball title since 2023; Columbia won the championship in 2021.

First pitch is set for 1 p.m. EDT. Weather forecasts call for partly sunny skies and temperatures near 70 degrees.
