PINE BLUFF, Ark. (Interstat) — Texas Southern survived a furious ninth-inning rally by Arkansas-Pine Bluff to win 11-10 on Saturday evening.

The Tigers built an 11-0 lead by the third inning, powered by a 15-hit attack. Christopher Chavez drove in three runs, including a two-run single in the seventh. Anthony Ruiz added an RBI single.

The Golden Lions scored three in the third and seven in the ninth, keyed by Zyon Hamilton’s pinch-hit homer and a two-run single from Konner Giddley. Jose Luccioni earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief for Texas Southern.

Texas Southern improved to 16-13. Arkansas-Pine Bluff fell to 17-23. The teams conclude their series Sunday.
