Baylor Edges Air Force in Afternoon-Night Doubleheader Finale

WACO, Texas (Interstat) — Brady Janusek’s two-run homer in the fifth inning Saturday propelled Baylor to a 5-4 victory over Air Force at Baylor Ballpark, completing a two-game sweep.

The Bears, who also won 7-0 on Friday, overcame an early four-run deficit. Air Force built its lead with a run in the second, but Baylor chipped away with an RBI groundout from Travis Sanders in the third and a run on a double play in the fourth. Sanders added an RBI double in the fifth before Janusek followed with his decisive blast.

Baylor’s bullpen shined, with Zack Wallace, Grayson Murry and Marcus Downing combining for 6 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. The Falcons loaded the bases in the ninth and scored on a pinch-hit RBI double by Cam Anstey and a groundout, but could not complete the comeback.

Baylor improved to 8-6. Air Force fell to 3-10. The teams conclude their series Sunday.
