TEANECK, N.J. (Interstat) — The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights erupted for 22 runs on 18 hits Saturday afternoon to defeat the Long Island Sharks 22-12 at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. The Knights improved to 32-18 overall, while Long Island fell to 27-19.

FDU first baseman Jeremy Cheeseman went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Center fielder Travis Stroh homered and drove in five runs on a 2-for-3 day. Catcher Garryn Plummer collected four hits and three RBIs, and second baseman Caleb Walker added a homer and three RBIs. Right-hander Drew Cisney struck out four over 1⅔ scoreless innings.

Long Island managed only six hits. Designated hitter Matthew McGurk homered and had two RBIs. First baseman Samuel Finarelli drove in three runs, and shortstop Ryan Rivera hit a solo homer.

The Knights took an early lead and built a 12-12 tie through six innings before pulling away with a 10-run outburst over the seventh and eighth frames. FDU grounded into two double plays. The game featured 34 combined runs and 24 total hits.
