(Interstat) — Carson Ballard pitched six near-perfect innings and the Georgia Tech offense erupted for 14 runs on 16 hits as the Yellow Jackets defeated Boston College 14-1 on Friday afternoon at Eddie Pellagrini Diamond at John Shea Field. Ballard allowed no hits and one earned run while striking out four over six innings. He yielded only a solo home run to Boston College first baseman Nick Wang in the bottom of the sixth, which accounted for the Eagles’ only run.
