ELON, N.C. (Interstat) — Will Tippett’s two-run home run in the fourth inning broke open a one-run game and helped the College of Charleston Cougars hold off the Elon Phoenix 6-5 in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup Friday night at Walter C. Latham Park. The Cougars improved to 23-25 overall, while the Phoenix dropped to 19-29. College of Charleston jumped ahead in the top of the second.
