BOCA RATON, Fla. (Interstat) — Florida Atlantic defeated Charlotte 9-4 on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in an American Athletic Conference game at FAU Baseball Stadium, evening its record at 21-21 while the 49ers fell to 19-23. The Owls pounded out 11 hits to Charlotte’s five.

Florida Atlantic took a 1-0 lead in the second on a sacrifice fly, but Charlotte answered in the fifth when Aaron Orozco hit a three-run homer for a 4-1 advantage. The Owls tied it in the bottom of the third on John Martinez’s three-run double. They took the lead for good in the sixth: a sacrifice bunt and Marshall Lipsey’s two-run double made it 7-4. Ian Collier homered in the seventh, and a sacrifice fly in the eighth added the final run.

Martinez went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, and Lipsey had two RBIs. Tyler Murphy pitched three scoreless innings with two strikeouts to earn the win. Kide Adetuyi struck out seven over five innings, allowing four earned runs. Carson Kimball pitched a hitless ninth.

Chase Carson took the loss, allowing six runs over 4 2/3 innings despite not allowing a hit.
