WEST POINT, N.Y. (Interstat) — Bucknell salvaged the finale of its Patriot League series at Army with an 8-0 shutout of the Black Knights on Sunday afternoon at Johnson Stadium at Doubleday Field.

The Bison scored all their runs early, powered by two-run homers from Michael Chiaravallo in the second inning and Michael Trommer in the third. Bucknell pitchers combined on a one-hitter, stifling the Army offense throughout the evening contest.

The Black Knights, who had won the series’ first three games, were held to a single hit. Bucknell improved to 21-18 overall, while Army fell to 22-16. The result defied a national statistical projection that heavily favored the Black Knights.
