Lehigh Falls to Lafayette in Patriot League Series Finale
EASTON, Pa. (Interstat) — The Lafayette Leopards capitalized on a three-run first inning and defeated the Lehigh Mountain Hawks 7-3 in a Patriot League baseball game Sunday evening at Kamine Stadium.
Lafayette erased an early three-run deficit by scoring four times in the first, aided by a Lehigh error and a wild pitch. Brandon Doubek led the Leopards, going 3 for 5 with two RBIs. Lehigh’s Owen Walewander homered in the seventh inning.
Lafayette starter Ben Waterman earned the win, allowing three runs over six innings. Lehigh reliever Jake Mulvehill provided 4 2/3 strong innings of hitless relief after the early trouble. The Leopards improved to 9-28 overall, while the Mountain Hawks fell to 11-26. Lafayette took two of three games in the weekend series.
