Lehigh Looks to Secure Series Win at Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. (Interstat) — The Lehigh Mountain Hawks and Lafayette Leopards will conclude a four-game Patriot League series Sunday afternoon at Kamine Stadium.

First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. under cloudy skies with temperatures near 70 degrees.

Lehigh (11-25) took two of the first three games of the series, including a 3-2 victory Saturday. The Mountain Hawks will look to right-hander Cole Leaman to deliver another strong outing. Leaman has been dominant in two of his last three starts, tossing six no-hit innings with 10 strikeouts in an 8-7 win over Lafayette on April 18 and repeating that line in a 3-8 loss at Navy on April 4. However, he was tagged for four earned runs while recording just one out against Bucknell on March 29.

Lafayette (8-28) aims to salvage a series split at home. The Leopards’ offense will rely on Brandon Doubek, who homered and drove in three runs in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader. Doubek is 3 for 10 with a home run and five RBIs in the series so far.

The rivalry series has been tightly contested, with the last three games decided by a total of four runs. According to Interstat’s game simulator, Lehigh is projected for a 4-1 victory in the finale.

Following Sunday’s game, Lafayette travels to face Wagner on Tuesday. Lehigh’s next contest is at Saint Peter’s on Wednesday.
