NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — Max Hansmann and Kevin Reed combined on a one-hitter Friday night, leading Evansville to an 11-2 victory over Belmont in a Missouri Valley Conference game at Ken Dugan Field.

Hansmann, the top star for Evansville, set the tone with five perfect innings, striking out seven. The Purple Aces offense provided ample support, pounding 12 hits. Reagan Reeder’s fourth-inning grand slam highlighted the onslaught, and Ryan Seddon and Spike Magill also homered for Evansville.

Belmont’s only hit and runs came on a two-run homer by Michael Lareau in the seventh inning off Reed, who otherwise struck out seven over four frames. Evansville improved to 14-21, while Belmont fell to 13-25.
