Tennessee Tech at Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — A midweek nonconference rematch between in-state foes Tennessee Tech and Austin Peay is set for Tuesday at Raymond C. Hand Park, though rain in the forecast could complicate the Governors’ home-field advantage.

The Golden Eagles (12-24) visit the Governors (16-20) just one week after securing a 7-5 win over Austin Peay in Cookeville on April 7. Tennessee Tech enters riding the momentum of a wild 18-16, 10-inning victory at Tennessee-Martin on Sunday, a game in which the offense exploded for 20 hits.

A key figure in that outburst was first baseman Nash Crowell, who drove in six runs on a 4-for-6 day. Crowell has been a power source lately, hitting home runs in two of his last five games and collecting 10 RBIs over that stretch. His performance will be central to Tech’s hopes.

Austin Peay looks to rebound after dropping a weekend series to North Alabama, including a 15-5 loss on Sunday. Designated hitter Houston Hebert has provided pop for the Governors, homering in each of his last two games and driving in four runs over the weekend series.

Both teams have struggled for consistency this season. The Golden Eagles’ Sunday win snapped a three-game skid, while the Governors have lost four of their last five.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Austin Peay 4, Tennessee Tech 3.

First pitch is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2026, with a forecast of 76 degrees and rain. The Governors will embark on a five-game road trip following this contest, while the Golden Eagles return home to host Southeast Missouri State in a weekend series starting Friday.
