SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — California’s pitching staff combined for a two-hit shutout in an 8-0 win over San Francisco on Monday at Dante Benedetti Diamond.

Eight Golden Bears pitchers stifled the Dons’ offense, with starter Otto Espinoza leading the way by throwing three perfect innings with three strikeouts. Jett Wright followed with four strikeouts over two hitless frames. The Dons managed just two singles total.

The Golden Bears, who had 10 hits, broke open a scoreless game with two runs in the fourth inning and added four more in the seventh. A run-scoring double by French and a sacrifice fly by Kodama were key among the plays.

California improved to 15-16. San Francisco fell to 16-14.
