Moore’s Dominant Start Powers Florida State Past Virginia in ACC Series Finale

LAKE MONTICELLO, Va. (Interstat) — Bryson Moore threw seven no-hit innings to lead Florida State to a 9-3 victory over Virginia in Atlantic Coast Conference play Saturday at Davenport Field.

The Seminoles (24-7, 2-1 ACC) scored early and often, supported by Moore’s dominant outing where he struck out seven. Cal Fisher’s two-run homer in the second inning opened the scoring. Carter McCulley drove in two runs as part of Florida State’s 12-hit attack.

Virginia (24-9, 1-2) avoided a shutout with three solo home runs in the final two innings, including Antonio Perrotta’s in the eighth. The result defied national projections that favored the Cavaliers. Florida State secured the series win after the teams split the first two games.
