Farrell’s Complete Game Gem Lifts Redhawks Past Pilots

BELLEVUE, Wash. (Interstat) — Travis Farrell tossed a complete-game six-hitter with 10 strikeouts Thursday as the Seattle Redhawks defeated the Portland Pilots 5-1 at Bannerwood Park.

Farrell allowed one earned run, rebounding from a rough outing his last start to dominate. Seattle capitalized on three Portland errors to score three unearned runs in the second inning. Ryder Manale and Josh Cunnigan each drove in a run for the Redhawks.

Cole Katayama-Stall provided Portland’s only offense with a solo home run in the seventh. Despite the loss, Portland starter Trey Swygart threw four hitless innings with six strikeouts. The Pilots, who entered with the best record in the conference at 18-9, were held to one run by Farrell. Seattle improved to 6-18.
