Cougars’ Pitching Dominates in Shutout Victory Over Redhawks
BELLEVUE, Wash. (Interstat) — Washington State pitchers combined for a two-hit shutout in a 10-0 rout of Seattle on Tuesday night at Bannerwood Park.
Five Cougars relievers — Ryan Falke, Trevor Stowe, Brock Blatter, and Erik Rodriguez — followed starter Patrick Galvin with two hitless innings each, striking out nine total. Designated hitter Mason Pirello led the offense, going 3 for 5 with a solo home run and two RBIs.
All 10 runs were scored after two outs. The Cougars (12-15) capitalized on wild pitches and key hits, including an RBI double from Max Hartman. Seattle (5-18) was held to just two singles, one each off Galvin and Kaden Alberghini. The Redhawks used eight pitchers. Washington State won despite Interstat’s projection favoring them by a 5-3 margin.
