WASHINGTON STATE, SEATTLE SET FOR CROSS-STATE NONCONFERENCE MATCHUP

BELLEVUE, Wash. (Interstat) — The Washington State Cougars and Seattle Redhawks meet Tuesday at Bannerwood Park in a nonconference baseball game between programs looking to build momentum as the season progresses.

First pitch is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, 2026, under clear skies with temperatures near 50 degrees.

Washington State (11-15) enters after dropping three of four to Nevada, including a 12-5 loss Sunday. The Cougars’ bullpen provided a bright spot in that defeat, with Ryan Falke, Gavin Derr and Kaden Wickersham combining for three scoreless innings of relief.

Falke, a player to watch for the Cougars, has been effective in recent outings. Over his last five appearances, the reliever has allowed just one earned run in five innings, striking out three.

Seattle (5-17) is also looking to rebound after losing two of three at San Francisco, falling 8-5 on Sunday. Redhawks starter Micah Hagler took the loss in that game, allowing five earned runs over five innings despite not surrendering a hit, as control issues proved costly.

Hagler, Seattle’s key player to watch, has shown flashes this season, including a quality start in a win over Pacific on March 22 where he gave up three earned runs over six innings.

According to Interstat, Washington State is projected as a solid favorite. The game simulator predicts a 5-3 Cougars victory, while the ELO rating system gives Washington State a 65.3% probability to win.

The game is the start of a busy stretch for both teams. Washington State travels to San Jose State for a three-game series beginning Thursday. Seattle hosts Portland for a three-game set starting the same day.
