Eastern Kentucky at Lipscomb
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Lipscomb Bisons and Eastern Kentucky Colonels will conclude a three-game ASUN Conference series Sunday at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon under clear skies with a temperature near 57 degrees.
The series is split, setting up a rubber match. Lipscomb (12-12) won a 12-inning pitcher’s duel 3-2 on Friday, but Eastern Kentucky (8-19) responded with a 15-3 rout on Saturday.
A player to watch for the Colonels is center fielder Jackson Reid, who powered Saturday’s victory by going 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs. For the Bisons, reliever Jevarra Martin provided a bright spot in the loss, throwing five scoreless innings of two-hit ball.
Eastern Kentucky will look to carry its offensive momentum from Saturday, when it racked up 15 hits. Lipscomb aims to rebound and get back to .500 in conference play.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-2 victory for the home-standing Bisons.
Following the game, Lipscomb will prepare for a road series at Bellarmine starting Thursday. Eastern Kentucky heads home to host Austin Peay in a series beginning Thursday.
