Dulin Powers Panthers Past Cardinals in ACC Slugfest

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Interstat) — Caden Dulin went 4 for 6 with two home runs and five RBIs to lead the Pittsburgh Panthers to a 13-7 victory over the Louisville Cardinals in Atlantic Coast Conference baseball Sunday evening at Jim Patterson Stadium.

The Panthers, who pounded out 14 hits, built a commanding early lead and never trailed. Dulin hit a two-run homer in the first inning and another in the fifth. Carter Dierdorf added a three-run homer in the eighth for Pittsburgh.

Louisville’s George Baker hit a three-run homer in the fifth, and Tague Davis added a solo shot in the ninth, but the Cardinals’ nine hits were not enough to overcome the deficit. Drew Lafferty earned the win for Pittsburgh despite allowing four earned runs over five innings.

Pittsburgh improved to 19-7 overall, while Louisville fell to 17-11. The Panthers won the weekend series two games to one.
