Seminoles Rally Past Blue Devils in ACC Slugfest
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — Myles Bailey’s two-run homer sparked a comeback as Florida State rallied from an early five-run deficit to edge Duke 12-11 on Saturday afternoon at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.
The Seminoles (21-5, 3-2 ACC) scored four runs in the first inning and three in the sixth before plating the decisive run on a throwing error in the eighth. Duke (17-12, 4-7) built an 11-7 lead, highlighted by a two-run homer from Michael DiMartini, but its bullpen faltered late.
Florida State’s Gabe Nard earned the win with 0.2 scoreless innings of relief. The teams combined for 29 hits in the three-hour, 45-minute contest, the second of their Atlantic Coast Conference series.
