Oregon Ducks Look to Rebound Against UC San Diego Tritons

LA JOLLA, Calif. (Interstat) — The Oregon Ducks, seeking to bounce back from a walk-off loss, visit the UC San Diego Tritons for a non-conference baseball game Tuesday at UCSD Triton Baseball Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PDT under cloudy skies with a temperature near 72 degrees.

Oregon (19-4) arrives after a tough 11-10, 12-inning defeat to Northwestern on Sunday, which snapped a seven-game winning streak. Despite the loss, the Ducks’ offense remains potent, averaging over eight runs per game during that stretch.

A key catalyst is designated hitter Dominic Hellman. He drove in six runs on two homers in Sunday’s loss and has four home runs and 13 RBIs in his last five games.

UC San Diego (9-11) is coming off a 14-10 home victory over UC Riverside on Sunday. Second baseman Addison Klepsch has been a bright spot, collecting four hits and six RBIs in his last three contests.

The Tritons’ pitching staff will face a significant test against an Oregon lineup that has scored 10 or more runs in six games this season. UC San Diego has allowed nine or more runs in eight of its 11 losses.

Interstat’s game simulator projects an 8-5 victory for Oregon.

The teams are scheduled to meet again Wednesday in La Jolla before both begin three-game weekend series on the road Friday. Oregon travels to UC Santa Barbara, while UC San Diego visits UC Davis.
