Nevada Rallies From Nine-Run Deficit to Stun San Francisco

RENO, Nev. (Interstat) — The Nevada Wolf Pack staged a stunning comeback from an early nine-run deficit to defeat the San Francisco Dons 14-9 in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday at William Peccole Park.

San Francisco built a 9-0 lead by the third inning, highlighted by Brendan Burke’s three-run homer in the seventh. Nevada began chipping away before erupting for eight runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Jake Harvey’s three-run double tied the game and Jackson Waller followed with a two-run homer.

Nevada reliever Ryan Oakes was pivotal, striking out nine over 3 2/3 scoreless innings to stifle the Dons’ offense and earn the win. Nevada improved to 13-8 while San Francisco fell to 12-11.
