ST. LOUIS (Interstat) — Chase Beattie hit a go-ahead, four-run homer in the sixth inning Tuesday afternoon, rallying the Saint Louis Billikens to an 8-2 victory over the SIU Edwardsville Cougars at Billiken Sports Center.

Beattie, the designated hitter, went 3 for 5 and drove in five runs. His blast broke a 2-2 tie and capped a six-run inning for Saint Louis. The Billikens finished with 12 hits.

SIU Edwardsville took an early 2-0 lead on an RBI single by Willoughby in the first and a wild pitch in the fourth. Cougars pitchers Gabriel Nutter, Andrew Ressler and Noah Thompson combined for six scoreless innings of relief, but the early deficit was too large.

Saint Louis improved to 12-12. SIU Edwardsville fell to 11-14.
