ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Interstat) — Saint Joseph’s scored in the 10th inning to defeat Navy 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium.

Matt Fitzgibbon led the Hawks with four hitless innings of relief for the win. Saint Joseph’s built a 3-0 lead by the third, keyed by a run scoring on a wild pitch and an RBI fielder’s choice from Anthony Pagano.

Navy’s Andrew Manning drove in both Midshipmen runs, including an RBI single in the ninth to force extra innings. But Saint Joseph’s responded in the 10th when Ryan Gale doubled home the decisive run.

The Hawks’ bullpen, featuring Fitzgibbon, Carson Magill and Sam Greer, combined for 10 innings, allowing just one earned run on six hits. Navy’s Jackson Beattie provided three scoreless innings of relief.

Saint Joseph’s improved to 12-9. Navy fell to 15-9.
