Hunter Powers Bearcats’ Offensive Surge in Rout of Dolphins

ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — Grant Hunter hit two home runs and drove in four runs Tuesday, powering Binghamton to a 17-6 victory over Le Moyne at Varsity Field.

The Bearcats erased an early six-run deficit with a nine-run second inning and never trailed again. Hunter, who entered in a 1-for-16 slump, homered in the first and fourth innings as part of Binghamton’s 16-hit attack.

Jack Cannon homered and drove in four runs for the Dolphins, who scored six runs on 10 hits. His two-run homer in the first gave Le Moyne a short-lived lead.

Andrew Heppner added a solo homer for Binghamton. Five Bearcats pitchers combined in relief after the first inning, with Soren Gregor, Conlan Taylor and Ian Kaiser allowing one run over four innings.

Binghamton improved to 9-11. Le Moyne fell to 4-15.
