Brown at Yale
Preview: Brown Bears at Yale Bulldogs
WEST HAVEN, Conn. (Interstat) — The Yale Bulldogs and Brown Bears will conclude a three-game Ivy League series Sunday at Yale Field, with first pitch scheduled for the afternoon.
The teams split a doubleheader Saturday. Yale (9-7) won the opener 14-7 behind a potent offense, but Brown (6-10) claimed a 2-1 pitchers’ duel in the nightcap.
Sunday’s matchup features two of the conference’s top hitters. Brown’s DJ Dillehay, who hit a three-run home run in Saturday’s first game, is batting .333 (10-for-30) with three homers and 10 RBIs over his last eight contests. Yale’s Kaiden Dossa has been equally formidable, going 11-for-26 (.423) with two homers and 11 RBIs in his last seven games. Dossa had four RBIs in the Game 1 rout.
The Bulldogs’ offense, which averages 7.4 runs per game, will look to rebound after being held to one run on five hits in Saturday’s second game by Brown pitchers Drew Nelson and Christian Keel. Yale’s Ben Winslow was stellar in that loss, striking out eight over seven innings.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 victory for Yale. The weather forecast calls for clear skies and a temperature of 53 degrees at game time.
Following Sunday’s contest, Brown will host Stonehill on Tuesday. Yale travels to face Iona on Wednesday.
