NEW YORK (Interstat) — Joey Giordano delivered a dominant pitching performance, carrying the Richmond Spiders to a 4-3 victory over the Fordham Rams in Atlantic 10 baseball Saturday at Jim Houlihan Park at Jack Coffey Field.

Giordano starred for Richmond, allowing no hits over 7 2/3 innings with one earned run and two strikeouts. The Spiders built an early lead on Chris Schaller’s RBI double in the second inning. Fordham chipped away with unearned runs, including two RBIs from Tommy Markey, closing the gap to 4-3 by the seventh.

Richmond secured the win with a two-run homer in the eighth and a key RBI single from Dylan Winebrenner. Chase Hanawalt struck out five over six innings for Fordham in the loss. Richmond improved to 12-11 overall, while Fordham fell to 10-11.
