Fresno State at Arizona

Preview: Fresno State at Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. (Interstat) — The Fresno State Bulldogs look to continue their strong start when they visit the struggling Arizona Wildcats in the second game of a weekend series Saturday at Hi Corbett Field.

First pitch is scheduled for March 7, 2026.

Fresno State (7-4) enters with momentum, having won five of its last six games, including a 2-0 victory over Sacramento State on Tuesday. The Bulldogs also took two of three from Stanford last weekend. Arizona (3-9) seeks to halt a skid after a 7-5 loss to Grand Canyon on Tuesday, which dropped the Wildcats to 1-4 in their last five contests.

The series opened Friday with Fresno State securing a road victory.

A key player to watch for the Bulldogs is reliever Douglas Crystal. The right-hander has been effective in recent outings, posting a 0.00 ERA over his last three appearances spanning 4.1 innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four. He earned the win in Tuesday’s shutout of Sacramento State with two perfect innings.

Arizona will counter with its own reliable arm in Maclain Roberts. The Wildcats’ reliever has been a bright spot, not allowing an earned run in his last three appearances. Over 7.0 innings in that stretch, Roberts has surrendered only one hit while striking out 12 batters.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Fresno State is projected to win 7-2.

Following Saturday’s contest, the teams conclude the series Sunday. Fresno State then travels to face Cal Poly on Tuesday. Arizona prepares for a road rivalry game at Arizona State on Tuesday before opening Pac-12 play at Utah next weekend.
