Murray State at UCF
ORLANDO, Fla. (Interstat) — The surging Murray State Racers look to continue their strong start to the season when they visit the UCF Knights in the second game of a weekend series Saturday at Jay Bergman Field.
First pitch is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 80 degrees.
Murray State (10-3) enters with momentum despite a 2-5 loss at Middle Tennessee on Tuesday and a series-opening loss to UCF on Friday. Prior to that, the Racers had won five straight, including a four-game sweep of Mercyhurst by a combined score of 48-15 from Feb. 27-March 1.
A key performer out of the bullpen for the Racers has been Carter Boyd. Over his last three appearances spanning 6 2/3 innings, he has allowed just one earned run and two hits while striking out four. He tossed three hitless innings of relief in Tuesday’s loss at Middle Tennessee.
The UCF Knights (6-5) snapped a three-game skid with a 12-5 win over Florida Gulf Coast on Wednesday. Offensive catalyst Andrew Williamson broke out in that victory, going 4 for 5 with a home run and five RBIs. The outfielder will be relied upon to spark a Knights lineup that was held to one run or fewer in three of its five losses this season.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Murray State 8, UCF 5.
Following Saturday’s contest, the series concludes Sunday at Jay Bergman Field. Murray State then travels for a three-game set at Lindenwood next weekend. UCF remains home to face Miami (FL) on Wednesday before a pivotal weekend series against Oklahoma State.
