Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech

ATLANTA (Interstat) — The surging Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, off to one of their best starts in recent seasons, will host the struggling Virginia Tech Hokies in an Atlantic Coast Conference baseball series finale on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Russ Chandler Stadium.

First pitch is set for the afternoon under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 80 degrees.

The No. 8-ranked Yellow Jackets (10-1) have won 10 of their first 11 games and will look to secure a series sweep after shutting out the Hokies 3-0 in Friday night’s opener. Georgia Tech’s potent offense, which has scored 10 or more runs in six games this season, is complemented by a pitching staff that has been dominant.

A key arm for Georgia Tech is reliever Dimitri Angelakos, who is coming off a spectacular five-inning, hitless outing with five strikeouts in a win over Georgia State on Tuesday. The right-hander has not allowed an earned run in his last three appearances.

Virginia Tech (7-5) has lost four of its last five, including a 13-4 defeat to Marshall on Tuesday. The Hokies’ offense, which managed just four hits in Friday’s loss, will look to shortstop Pete Daniel to provide a spark. Daniel is batting .333 (5-for-15) over his last five games, including a home run and two RBIs.

The Interstat game simulator projects a 7-5 victory for Georgia Tech.

Following Saturday’s contest, the teams will conclude the three-game series on Sunday. Georgia Tech then hosts West Georgia on Tuesday before opening ACC road play at Clemson next Thursday. Virginia Tech travels to face in-state rival Virginia for a three-game series starting next Friday.
