RICHMOND, Va. (Interstat) — Joey Giordano struck out 12 over seven dominant innings Saturday, leading Richmond to an 8-1 victory over Binghamton at Malcolm U. Pitt Field. The Spiders avenged a Friday loss to the Bearcats, scoring three times in the first inning and never looking back.

Giordano allowed just one hit and one earned run. Richmond’s offense produced 12 hits, with Evan Wilson and Michael Elko each driving in two runs. Steven Kraus provided Binghamton’s lone run with a seventh-inning homer. The Bearcats managed only two hits total.

Richmond improved to 9-6. Binghamton fell to 3-8. The teams conclude their three-game series Sunday.
