FORT WORTH, Texas (Interstat) — Mason Brassfield struck out 10 over five innings and Lucas Franco hit a grand slam as TCU routed Tulane 10-2 on Friday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.

Brassfield allowed three hits and two earned runs for the Horned Frogs. TCU broke a 2-2 tie in the second and led the rest of the way. Franco’s seventh-inning blast to right field, his second homer of the season, broke the game open and drove in four runs.

Tulane managed only five hits. The Green Wave scored both runs in the fifth inning without a hit, using a fielder’s choice and a wild pitch. TCU improved to 8-5, while Tulane fell to 8-6. The teams continue their series Saturday.
