Tulane at Texas Christian

FORT WORTH, Texas (Interstat) — The Tulane Green Wave and TCU Horned Frogs are set to open a three-game series Friday at Lupton Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for the evening despite a forecast calling for rain and temperatures near 74 degrees.

Both teams enter the nonconference matchup with winning records. Tulane (8-5) looks to rebound after a 5-6 road loss at Nicholls State on Tuesday. TCU (7-5) is coming off a 7-6 home victory over Abilene Christian the same day.

A key player to watch for the Green Wave is shortstop KaiKea Harrison. He is coming off a powerful performance in the loss, going 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. Over his last eight games, Harrison has driven in 11 runs.

The Horned Frogs counter with catcher Brady Dallimore, who provided a crucial pinch-hit, three-run homer in Tuesday’s win. He is 3-for-6 with four RBIs over his last three appearances.

On the mound, Tulane relievers Jake Toporek and Blaise Wilcenski combined for 4 2/3 scoreless innings of relief in the midweek game. TCU received strong bullpen work from Tanner Sagouspe and Ethan Thomas, who each threw two scoreless frames against Abilene Christian.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final score is Tulane 6, TCU 5.

This series continues Saturday and Sunday at Lupton Stadium before both teams diverge in their schedules. Tulane will host Mississippi State in a neutral-site game in Biloxi, Mississippi, next Tuesday. TCU will host Kansas on Tuesday before traveling to Arizona State for a weekend series.
