Oregon State cruises past Air Force 8‑1 in Corvallis
CORVALLIS, Ore. (Interstat) — Josh Proctor drove in four runs with a single, a two-run homer and an RBI single as Oregon State defeated Air Force 8-1 on Saturday evening at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. Proctor’s seventh-inning home run highlighted a seven-run outburst that included a five-run third inning.
The Beavers (43-12) took a 1-0 lead in the second on Proctor’s RBI single. They added four more in the third on a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded, Proctor’s run-scoring single and Jacob Galloway’s two-run single. Air Force (25-26) got its only run in the fourth when Walker Zapp homered to left center, his ninth of the season. Oregon State padded the lead in the eighth on Proctor’s two-run homer and an RBI fielder’s choice by AJ Singer.
Air Force mustered only three hits, while Oregon State collected eight. The win evened the three-game series after the Falcons won Friday’s opener 9-6.
