Oregon Capitalizes on Errors to Defeat Oregon State in Big 10 Matchup
CORVALLIS, Ore. (Interstat) — The Oregon Ducks leveraged a six-run sixth inning fueled by two critical Oregon State errors to defeat the Beavers 7-3 on Wednesday night at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
Oregon State’s Easton Talt opened the scoring with a solo home run in the first inning. The game remained 1-0 until the Ducks’ offensive outburst in the sixth, which included a two-run double by Naulivou Lauaki Jr. and was aided by two Beaver miscues, resulting in four unearned runs.
Oregon’s bullpen was dominant, combining for 6 1/3 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts. Tanner Bradley and Toby Twist each struck out three. Oregon State’s Trey Morris provided 3 1/3 strong relief innings, allowing no earned runs.
The Ducks improved to 29-11. The Beavers fell to 30-9. Oregon State had been projected as a 62% favorite to win by Interstat’s ELO system.
