LAKE CHARLES, La. (Interstat) — McNeese State scored a run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Louisiana Tech 4-3 on Tuesday night at Sudduth Coliseum.

The Cowboys erased an early three-run deficit with a three-run third inning, keyed by Connor Walker’s RBI double. Walker went 3 for 3. Isaiah Keller added three hits and scored the decisive run.

The Bulldogs had taken a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a bases-loaded walk. They outhit McNeese State 13 to 11 but stranded 10 baserunners. Louisiana Tech relievers Connor Nation, Drew Ferguson and Nate Crider combined for 5 1/3 scoreless innings.

McNeese State improved to 20-19. Louisiana Tech fell to 24-18.
