James Dominates as TCU Blanks Kansas State to Clinch Series

MANHATTAN, Kan. (Interstat) — Zack James threw eight no-hit innings and the Texas Christian offense provided early support as the Horned Frogs shut out Kansas State 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Tointon Family Stadium to win the Big 12 series.

James was dominant, striking out five and walking none before Walter Quinn finished the combined one-hitter in the ninth. The Wildcats’ only hit came off reliever Miles Smith. TCU scored all its runs early. A first-inning sacrifice fly plated a run before Cole Cramer’s two-run double in the second. Brady Dallimore added a solo home run in the fifth.

The Horned Frogs (20-11) collected 12 hits, while Kansas State (19-11) was held to six. The Wildcats used seven pitchers, including starter Cohen Feser, who allowed two hits over two innings. TCU took two of three in the weekend series.
