Aggies Outlast Tigers in High-Scoring Affair

STOCKTON, Calif. (Interstat) — Everet Johnson homered and drove in three runs as UC Davis outslugged Pacific 10-8 on Tuesday at Klein Family Field.

The Aggies (11-11) built an early lead and held off a late Tigers rally. Pacific (9-15) scored four runs in the sixth inning to close within two but could not complete the comeback. Johnson’s two-run homer in the second highlighted a 10-hit effort for UC Davis. Braeden Schnabel went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for Pacific, which out-hit the Aggies 13-10.

Five UC Davis relievers combined for 4 2/3 scoreless innings, with Jack Meek, Mason Lerma, Rowen Barnes, Grayson Bonanno and Carter Speights shutting the door. Pacific’s Matt Ludeman and Connor Raridan also provided effective relief. The result defied a national projection that favored UC Davis by a narrower margin.
