Central Arkansas at Arkansas
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (Interstat) — The Arkansas Razorbacks return to Baum Stadium on Tuesday to host in-state foe Central Arkansas in a midweek nonconference matchup.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. under cloudy skies with temperatures around 62 degrees.
The Razorbacks (18-7), coming off a series loss at then-South Carolina, look to rebound against the Bears (13-11). Arkansas dropped the finale 9-4 on Sunday despite a 3-for-4, home run performance from second baseman Nolan Souza. The sophomore is batting .417 over his last 10 games.
Central Arkansas arrives after taking two of three from Bellarmine, including an 8-7 victory Sunday. Shortstop Nathan Negre powered that win, going 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs. He has three homers and 11 RBIs in his last three games, though his production has been inconsistent.
The Bears’ offense, averaging 7.2 runs per game, will test an Arkansas pitching staff that posted a 6.75 ERA in Columbia. The Razorbacks’ bullpen, a strength for much of the season, will be crucial.
Arkansas holds a commanding 30-4 advantage in the all-time series, including a 20-1 mark in Fayetteville. The teams last met in 2023, an 8-3 Razorbacks win.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projected final is Arkansas 6, Central Arkansas 4.
Following this contest, Arkansas opens a pivotal SEC series at home against Florida on Friday. Central Arkansas begins ASUN Conference play at home against Austin Peay on Friday.
