Owls Rally Past Bulldogs in High-Scoring Affair
ATHENS, Ga. (Interstat) — Kennesaw State built a large early lead and withstood a late Georgia rally to win 10-7 on Tuesday evening at Athens Olympic Indoor Hall.
The Owls scored in five consecutive innings, highlighted by a two-run homer from Aaron Posey in the sixth, to take a 10-0 lead. Georgia’s offense awoke in the seventh, sparked by back-to-back solo homers from Calloway and a two-run shot from Kolby Branch. Pinch-hitter Jack Arcamone drove in three runs, but the Bulldogs’ comeback fell short.
Nolan Sliver earned the win in relief for Kennesaw State. Ty Bayer started but allowed four earned runs over 4 2/3 innings. Georgia used seven pitchers. The Owls improved to 11-10, while the 20-6 Bulldogs lost for just the second time in their last 14 games.
