ORLANDO, Fla. (Interstat) — The Miami Hurricanes built a large early lead and withstood a late UCF rally to win 9-5 at Jay Bergman Field on Wednesday.

Miami scored nine runs over the first seven innings, powered by a two-RBI day from Daniel Cuvet and three RBIs from Alonzo Alvarez. Andrew Williamson homered for UCF, and Austin Jacobs hit a three-run shot in the sixth to pull the Knights within four.

The Hurricanes’ bullpen sealed the win, with Packy Bradley-Cooney, TJ Coats, Sebastian Santos-Olson and Jack Durso combining for 6 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Miami improved to 13-4, while UCF fell to 9-6.
