GEORGETOWN AT GEORGE WASHINGTON

ARLINGTON, Va. (Interstat) — The surging Georgetown Hoyas will look to extend their winning streak when they visit the George Washington Revolutionaries in a nonconference matchup Wednesday afternoon at Barcroft Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 34 degrees.

Georgetown (8-4) enters having won five of its last six, including a three-game sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson last weekend. The Hoyas rallied for a 6-5 win in Sunday’s series finale, powered by a grand slam from outfielder Jackson Thomas and a strong start from pitcher Spencer Seid.

Seid, a player to watch for the Hoyas, earned the win Sunday, allowing two earned runs over six innings with seven strikeouts. In his last two starts, he has surrendered just two earned runs in 11 2/3 innings.

George Washington (4-6) snapped a three-game skid with a 9-6 win over Saint Peter’s on Sunday. Revolutionaries starter Declan Wywoda, Wednesday’s anticipated starter, was dominant in that victory, giving up just one hit over six scoreless innings.

The Hoyas’ offense has been potent during their hot stretch, scoring seven or more runs in four of their last five wins. The Revolutionaries’ pitching, outside of Wywoda’s last outing, has struggled at times, allowing 10 or more runs in three of their six losses.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Georgetown is projected to win 8-4.

Following Wednesday’s contest, Georgetown begins a three-game series at George Mason on Friday. George Washington opens a three-game home set against Yale on Friday.
