Beavers Bats Overpower Ducks in Big 10 Matchup
CORVALLIS, Ore. (Interstat) — Oregon State erupted for 10 runs on Tuesday, defeating Oregon 10-6 in a nonconference baseball game at Goss Stadium.
The Beavers (7-4) built a commanding 10-1 lead, powered by Josh Proctor’s three hits and two RBIs and a three-RBI double from Jacob Galloway. Oregon State’s bullpen was dominant, with five relievers combining for 6 1/3 scoreless innings. Noah Scott, Isaac Yeager, Jack Giordano, Hudson Carvalho and Leo Uelmen allowed no hits.
Oregon (10-2) rallied late, highlighted by Angel Laya’s two-run homer in the sixth and an RBI triple in the eighth, but could not overcome the early deficit. The Ducks’ six runs came despite being held to just one hit over the final six innings.
The game was organized by the Big 10. Oregon State next hosts Xavier for a four-game series starting Friday, while Oregon travels to Purdue.
