Privateers Blank Jaguars Behind Jones’ Gem
NEW ORLEANS (Interstat) — Skylar Jones and five relievers combined on a three-hit shutout as the New Orleans Privateers defeated the Southern Jaguars 4-0 on Wednesday at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
Jones set the tone for a dominant staff effort. The Privateers provided all the offense needed in the first inning when Owen Smith homered to deep center. Smith added a sacrifice RBI in the third. An unearned run scored on a Jake single in the fourth, and Tidwell homered in the fifth.
The Jaguars, held to just three hits, fell to 1-6. The Privateers improved to 4-5, winning their second straight.
