Mark’s 11th-Inning Homer Lifts Ragin’ Cajuns Over Wildcats
LAFAYETTE, La. (Interstat) — Drew Mark launched a walk-off home run in the 11th inning Wednesday, lifting Louisiana-Lafayette to a 3-2 victory over Kansas State at M.L. Tigue Moore Field.
The Ragin’ Cajuns took the series after a 1-0 win Tuesday. Kansas State’s Grant Gallagher hit a go-ahead solo homer in the top of the ninth to force extra innings, answering a tying run scored on a Wildcats throwing error in the eighth.
Louisiana-Lafayette scored first on a sacrifice fly in the opening inning. Gallagher had tied it earlier with an RBI single in the sixth. Wildcats pitchers held the Cajuns to five hits but fell in the series finale.
Louisiana-Lafayette improved to 7-2. Kansas State fell to 6-3.
