LEON (Interstat) — Jal. Astros defeated Leon 95-83 on Thursday, Aug. 6, at Domo de la Feria in an LNBP game. Jal. Astros led 22-16 after the first quarter, 48-38 at halftime and 74-59 entering the fourth. Leon outscored the visitors 24-21 in the final period, but the margin held.

Ticket Gaines led Leon with 15 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Pedro Bombino Parada had 11 points, 10 rebounds and three assists for Jal. Astros. Jose Ascanio scored 16 points with seven rebounds. Paco Cruz added 14 points and nine assists. Giovanni Santiago had 14 points and eight assists for Leon. Anthony Roberts led all scorers with 18 points. Gage Davis contributed 13 points and nine rebounds. Moises Andriassi Quintana added 13 points and six assists. Deion McClenton finished with eight points and five rebounds. Dyondre Dominguez had five points and five rebounds.

Jal. Astros improved to 2-1. Leon fell to 0-2. The teams played the previous night, with Jal. Astros winning 103-90.
